Vacation is over and back work, although what I do is not really work, back to creative socialization.
Today will also be the first day of a 30 day caveman experiment. After spending the greater majority of my vacation seeking out sources of grass feed (not grain) meats, and drying and freezing enough to last me the next thirty days, I will now spend the next thirty days as a hunter-gather.
Here's a brief rundown: no grains whatsoever, no diary, no beans, no legumes, and no starchy vegetables, and plenty of exercise.
Sound easy?
I hardly think so, especially when the list of no can have includes corn, and corn byproducts, most especially high fructose corn syrup.
Your certainly welcome to join in!
For now let me leave you with what I just enjoyed: the huge eggs from a free-range chicken, three meaty slice of Trader Joe's no nitrate bacon, two juicy apricots, and one red plum.
I can't wait for lunch..I think I'm having leftover lobster dipped in coconut oil.
Note: I found this little gem on Wikipedia, “A few groups of remaining hunter-gatherers continue to live in a largely paleolithic lifestyle. However, this article rather refers a recently emerged movement or subculture of people who try to recreate elements of a paleolithic lifestyle within our industrialized society. Their motivation is to enhance health, fitness and happiness by avoiding the common “diseases of civilization”, such as obesity, some cardiovascular diseases, metabolic syndrome, increasingly prevalent allergies, some forms of depression and chronic stress. These diseases are not yet evidenced among hunter-gatherers, and therefore appear to be caused by our modern, "civilized" lifestyle.”
